What data is processed

• Photos of letters that you take with the camera or choose.
• The recognised text of the letter. It can contain names, addresses, amounts and health or financial information.
• Questions that you type or speak.
• If you press «Remember deadline»: a date, an amount and a short name. These are stored only in your browser on your device (in local storage, «localStorage»).
• Your «Voice help while scanning» setting (on or off). It also stays only in your browser's local storage.
• Technical access data: when you open the website, the server receives your IP address, the page, the time and browser details. The hosting provider uses this for simple visitor statistics (for example page views, referring page, device type, country).

Lesefee uses no advertising or tracking cookies and adds no analytics program of its own to the page.

The camera checks light, movement and framing directly on your device. These small check images are not sent anywhere.

What the data is used for

We use the data only to read your letter aloud, explain it and answer your questions about it.

There is no account. There is no advertising. We do not sell data. We do not create profiles.

Who receives the data

• AI service: the photo, the letter text and your questions are sent via the Lovable AI Gateway (Lovable Labs Incorporated) to the AI provider OpenAI (USA). Requests are sent with storage turned off («store: false»). Lesefee itself stores no letters.
• Hosting: the website is run by Lovable (Lovable Labs Incorporated). The server part runs on Cloudflare infrastructure. The technical access data arises there.
• Voice input: if you turn on the microphone, Lesefee uses your browser's speech recognition. The browser or operating system provider (for example Google or Apple) may process your speech for this, including online. Lesefee stores no recordings.
• Reading aloud: Lesefee uses your browser's built-in voice. Reading aloud runs on your device.
• Sharing: only if you choose «Share» or «Copy» yourself does the text go to the app or person you select.

These providers may process data in other countries, including the USA. Data protection there may not be equivalent to Switzerland.

A letter is only sent to the AI service after you have explicitly agreed in the app.

The providers process the data according to their own privacy policies.

How long data is kept

• Letters, recognised text and questions: Lesefee does not store them. They stay only in the open page until you press «Delete letter» or close the page.
• Remembered deadlines: they stay on your device until you delete them. Press «Delete» next to a deadline in the deadline list. You can also delete the website data for lesefee.ch in your browser settings.

Your rights

You have the right to information, correction and deletion of your data. You can also object to the processing.

Our tip

Before taking the photo, cover what you do not want to share. For example account numbers or insurance numbers. A piece of paper or a finger is enough.
